What exactly is Holistic Learning?

Holistic Learning is essentially education for the ‘whole’ learner.

Facilitating and nurturing students’ intellectual, physical, social, creative and emotional capacities, we prepare learners for real life, not just for their next exam, so that they are prepared with the skills and understanding to interact and navigate the uncertainties that life throws at us.

That means we must provide opportunities for them to develop 21st Century skills.

Why is Holistic Learning important?

All of these elements play a significant role in students’ learning as they are the aptitudes that make us ‘human’. These, and the skills that arise from Holistic Learning, stand us ahead of artificial intelligence. They underpin our ability to evolve and adapt to our changing world.

Furthermore, the development of these elements help students interact in and contribute to their worlds fully.

When students develop these skills and aptitudes they gain a greater sense of well-being as they are more able to direct and manage their own lives, drawing from their intrinsic motivation to learn.

"Education is not a preparation for life, education is life itself"
